Abortion (termination) advice

Abortion, or termination, is the process of ending a pregnancy by choice.

Umbrella doesn’t perform abortions. An abortion must be carried out by a specialist service.

If you’re considering an abortion, you can refer yourself to any of the following services. The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is the current NHS provider in Birmingham and Solihull, and abortion is free if you’re registered with a local GP. (You don’t need to visit your GP or an Umbrella clinic first.)

These services also provide all methods of contraception and some sexually transmitted infection testing.
