There are lots of STIs. Many of them have their own symptoms but sometimes they don't cause any.
How to avoid STIs
In general, sexually transmitted infections are highly preventable. The only method guaranteed to prevent STIs is to avoid any kind of sexual contact, but we know this won't appeal to everyone!
Symptoms of STIs
Sometimes STIs don't cause any symptoms at all, but if you get certain symptoms you should book an appointment.
Testing for STIs
At Umbrella, we advise all sexually active people to get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis. Some patients may need testing for other infections too.
Informing your partner(s) of an STI
If you find out you have an STI, it's important to let your partner(s) know. We can help.
